Partnership Structure:
The North Allerdale Partnership Ltd. was registered as a not-for-profit
company in October 2006 with the Board of Directors representing a wide
cross-section of our community and who share their local knowledge, skills
and expertise on a voluntary basis.

NAP Ltd. was created to promote rural regeneration for the public benefit
within the towns of Aspatria, Silloth and Wigton and their surrounding
areas. We are involved in numerous projects to deliver this objective
ranging from Silloth public realm enhancement to the Wigton Gathering Place
Training and Support Centre.
Whilst we were specifically created to replace the North Allerdale Market
Towns Partnership in delivering the Market Towns Initiative (MTI) for the
area, it is intended that NAP Ltd. continues to develop and manage its own
projects, and those of other groups and organisations, beyond the expiration
of MTI in March 2008.

Summary of Projects
Projects include:
Wigton Gathering Place Training and Support Centre was originally conceived
of some four years ago as a project which aimed to create a space to bring
together the residents of the Greenacres Estate in Wigton and thus improve
their quality of life. Following from this, the Wigton Gathering Place Ltd.
Steering Group intends to build and run a pilot training and support centre
in Wigton Town Park. The architects have drawn up plans for this development
and the lease for the land has been finalised.
Silloth Public Realm Works is part of the overall plan to improve Silloth’s
appearance and encourage a revival in tourism to boost the local economy.
Improvements are to include: promenade and green enhancements – signage,
lighting, streetscape etc. The sourcing of match funding is now underway.
Wigton Townscape Masterplan has been completed and it considers ways to
enhance the image of Wigton, making it more attractive to existing
businesses, residents and visitors. The focus at the moment is on the Market
Hall and the possible improvements that could be made to it.
Possible options for the long-term future of NAP Ltd. i.e. asset purchase /
development are being discussed. This is at the initial planning stage and
potential sites have been identified.
